From his breakout role in Barbershop and Barbershop 2, MICHAEL EALY is quickly rising through the ranks as one of Hollywood’s leading young actors. He recently starred in Seven Pounds for Sony Pictures, opposite Will Smith, and Spike Lee’s The Miracle at St. Anna. Soon, he can be seen on the ABC television series “FlashForward.” Ealy starred in the Showtime mini-series “Sleeper Cell.” He earned a nomination for a Golden Globe for his lead performance in the mini-series. A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Michael graduated college with a degree in English. Shortly after, Michael headed to New York where he performed in several stage productions, including the Off-Broadway hits Joe Fearless and Whoa Jack. It would not be long before Michael nabbed guest-starring roles in NBC’s “Law & Order” and Showtime’s hit series “Soul Food.” After landing his role in Barbershop, he promptly moved to Los Angeles to further pursue acting, but suddenly found himself whisked away to Miami, to film 2 Fast 2 Furious and finally settled in Los Angeles and completed a stint on the Emmy-winning series “ER” for NBC. He has read previously in Voices and is a cast member of the television documentary version “The People Speak,” airing on History December 13.
Acclaimed actress/director JASMINE GUY is a multifaceted, widely accomplished artist. Jasmine is famous for her starring role on NBC's hit television sitcom, A Different World where she created the unforgettable humor and grace of the Southern-accented, Whitlely Gilbert. Her work on the Cosby spin-off earned her 6 NAACP Image Awards. Jasmine also began her directing career on the series, directing several A Different World episodes. Jasmine more recently starred alongside Mandy Patinkin in the Showime television series, Dead Like Me. Both A Different World and Dead Like Me are still running in national syndication today. Jasmine's artistic roots were firmly sprouted in Dance and Theatre. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 10th, Jasmine’s family lived in Westchester County, New York and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia. It was there that Jasmine studied dance at Spelman College Dance School until age 12. She continued with her dance and music training in high school and graduated from the Northside School of the Arts. Jasmine also studied at Atlanta Ballet and danced with the Atlanta Ballet Company. At age 17, Jasmine was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. In 1982, Jasmine left the Ailey Dance Company to perform in Fame, the television series. She is a moving force for many nonprofit organizations. Her philanthropic work covers a wide spectrum from Movement of Agape Dance Ministry; HIV awareness and prevention charities; Fragile X, a research and resources for families living with children for Fragile X; the Jackie Robinson Foundation and the Jenessee House, a shelter for abused women and their children. She also speaks to organizations, schools and conferences all over the country. Jasmine and her daughter, Imani, reside in Atlanta.
